Up until Spetember 30 voter registration- Comelec

Written by on September 21, 2021

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has maintained that it is unclear whether the voter registration, which is set to end on September 30, will be extended.

This is despite calls by the House and Senate to extend registration until October 31 to give those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic the opportunity to register.

In an interview by Bombo Radyo Legazpi with Atty. Maria Aurea Bo-Bubao, Provincial Election Supervisor of the Comelec-Albay, admitted that it will be difficult for her to grant the extension request, especially since the filing of the certificate of candidacy is next month.

Therefore, the official called on those who have not yet registered and those who have been removed from the official list to take advantage of the remaining 10 days to be included in the voters registration.

Meanwhile, it is expected that the filing of the certificate of candidacy will be more stringent where the candidate will be limited to only two while wearing a surgical mask to prevent the spread of COVID 19.
