US President Joe Biden has promised that his country will donate 50-million doses of Pfizer vaccine to developing nations next year.
At the virtual COVID-19 summit sideline of the UN General Assembly, Biden said the US would be an “arsenal of vaccines.”
According to experts, it is estimated that more than 11 billion doses of vaccine are needed for 70% of the global population.
The World Health Organization has announced that its minimum target is 40% vaccine coverage in each country by the end of 2021.
However, based on data from the University of Oxford, only more than half of the population of rich countries received the first twelve while only 2% of the population of low-income countries received the first twelve.
