Vice President Leni Robredo also joined those calling on the Comelec to extend voter registration for the 2022 elections for another month.
Although he understands why the Comelec needs to set deadlines, Robredo said the poll body should also consider that the country is still facing an “extraordinary” period that may have affected those who wished to register.
The Comelec had earlier said that they would not extend the voter registration deadline set for September 30.
Instead, the poll body said they would only extend voter registration hours and open registration areas in shopping malls.
However, Robredo said that many voters may be affected if the deadline for voter registration is not extended.
