No reported cases of the Omicron variant in the country- DOH

The Department of Health (DOH) has reported that no cases of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 have been detected in the Philippines.
According to Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, the department is still gathering information on the arrival of three overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from South Africa.
The OFWs arrived in the Philippines on November 26.
According to Vergeire, they are already processing the next batch of whole genome sequences.
