Britain’s health minister Sajid Javid has rejected doctors ’call for implementation of new measures amid rising numbers of COVID-19 infections.
This is despite doctors ’warning that hospitals in their country will soon be overwhelmed.
Javid said the UK had already entered into agreements for two experimental COVID-19 antivirals, including those being developed by Merck and Ridgeback Therapeutics and Pfizer.
It is clear that the UK prefers to rely on vaccines and drugs rather than imposing restrictions.
It is known that Europe registered its highest number of new infections on Wednesday which reached almost 50,000.
