More than 8,000 newly added COVID cases in PH; active cases inflated to over 61,000

The number of new COVID-19 cases in the Philippines has risen sharply to more than 8,000 a day.

This is after the Department of Health (DOH) reported that they have recorded 8,562 additional cases of COVID-19 in the country.

This is the highest in the past two months.

As a result, the total number of coronavirus cases since last year has reached 1,580,824.

There were also many newly healed, numbering 2,854.

Those recovered in the country from the coronavirus now number 2,854.

So far the number of active cases has also increased to 61,920.

Two laboratories failed to submit their COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS) data.

Meanwhile, the new death toll in the country stands at 145.

The death toll due to the deadly virus is already at 27,722.
