Local government units in Metro Manila can begin this week distributing aid to their residents affected by enhanced community quarantine throughout the National Capital Region (NCR), according to Interior Secretary Eduardo Año.
He said this is when the LGUs will be able to prepare for the distribution of aid after the three departments issued joint implementing guidelines for it last Friday, August 6.
Año said LGUs have 15 days for the distribution of financial assistance but it is also possible to extend it if the local governments request it.
Under Joint Memorandum Circular No. 3 of the Interior, Social Welfare, and Defense departments instruct LGUs in NCRs, under the supervision of the DILG, to distribute aid to their constituents.
Each low-income individual in NCR will receive P1,000 and a maximum of P4,000 per low-income family affected by ECQ.
