The United Nations (UN), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the World Health Organization (WHO) have supported the Philippines ’decision to continue conducting face-to-face classes in areas with low COVID-19 cases.
According to the group, the return of such face-to-face classes is important because every child has the right to an education that will shape their personality.
He said the wearing of face masks, physical distancing, hand washing and proper ventilation of classrooms should still be implemented.
Earlier, Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Leonor Briones said a pilot run of in-person classes will be conducted in 100 schools in areas endorsed by DepEd, the Department of Health and local government units.
