BREAKING: Philippines, recorded 20,151 new COVID-19 recoveries

More than 12,000 new cases of Coronavirus Disease or COVID-19 have been reported in the Philippines.

According to the latest data from the Department of Health (DOH) as of Wednesday (September 8), 2,134,005 confirmed cases of infectious diseases have hit the country.

Of that number, 151,135 or 7.1 per cent were active cases.

The department said there are 12,751 newly reported COVID-19 cases in the country.

91.6 percent of active COVID-19 cases were mild; 3.7 percent were asymptomatic; 2.54 percent were moderate; 1.5 percent were severe while 0.7 percent were in critical condition.

A total of 174 people were reported killed.

As a result, COVID-19 related deaths in the country have risen to 34,672 or 1.62 percent.

According to the DOH, 20,151 have recovered from COVID-19.

As a result, the total recoveries of COVID-19 in the Philippines have risen to 1,948,198 or 91.3 percent.
